Bad Logos Sold from a contest site #3. Reasons why.

A logo is the first impression representing your company. The first impression is the most important one. Although the saying exists do not judge a book by its cover. I never buy a book without judging the art on the cover. I have collected some very bad logos that have SOLD on a contest site. The following logos should have never been allowed for sale. The desktop publishers who create them have no professional design ethics or practices.

This logo would not work at single color. It is poorly done with overlapping lines and gradients that would not print.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/compsol

This logo has so many eye sores because the shapes do not line up and are slightly overlapping. Gives me a headache.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/unbranded

This is too complex to work as a identity. small white areas would fill in and end up looking like a black blob when printed on a business card.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/bedouin-boutique-9

This is a perfect example of what never to do. The upper text is smushed. NEVER DISTORT TEXT. This is clipart and is way to complex to work as a identity. This is really a piece of garbage.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/quickbooks

This logo would not work in single color. A simple fix is too add white outlines.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/blond-guy

How can you justify this as a logo. It is poorly done for a child.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/se-international-2-1

This logo has already been done a couple times. More proof contest desktop publishers just rip off original design. Adding different colors and gradients does not make it a unique identity.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/vision-design

Another logo that will not work in single color. simple fix add white strokes. You should not have to buy a logo and then pay to have it fixed.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/ideal-0

Most Contest designers have no clue what kerning and leading is. If you sell logos without visually adjusting the space between the letters you are not a designer.

http://stocklogos.com/logo/neptuno-resort-and-spa

This logo would not scale down. Way too much detail. You can see it just turns into a blob.

Contest desktop publishers steal fonts and run pirated software. Is this someone you want to hire too create your companies identity?

The pre-designed logos on my site are on sale for $150 this includes small design changes. I charge $25 a hour for custom design. I offer a complete logo design package. The complete logo design package includes unlimited concepts and revisions at a set price of $250. Better than any contest in the world.

Seven Deadly Sins of Logo Design!

1. Clarity in 1 color – doesn’t mean you can’t use multiple colors, but if the design won’t work without multiple colors, it can never be on a B&W form, photocopied, faxed and often, reversed out of a solid color. In other words a lame logo that can’t be used in a multitude of ways a client has a right to expect to use his/her logo.

2. Lack of Mass (clarity at distance)

3. Scale problems (parts too small-fills in at lo-res or on printing, when reversed, etc)

4. Overlapping elements (logo & sig)

5. Disharmony: misleading info/
wrong mood, conflicting ideas shapes unnecessary elements

6. Lack of style, visual sophistication, contrived combo, elements not refined, illegible type

7. No unique design-signature only

Bad logos from a Contest Site and the reasons why.

My first post about bad logos received such positive attention I decided to write another one. The following 10 Logos are bad in my opinion and here is my explanation why.

Enviro saver The leafs on this logo are well done. I do not understand the concept. Here is the reason this Logo is bad. Leafs are way over done. I have seen way too many logos with just leafs. See my first post were the desktop publisher Molumen sold the exact same logo 2 leafs to two different clients. Do you want your company to stand out or just blend in?

The Anima logo is another logo that consists of thin lines that will not scale down or print. http://stocklogos.com/node/33549

Sound force is the same thin lines but to make it even worse it is a dark multi color blend placed on a dark background Dark on Dark = Not legible. http://stocklogos.com/node/34011

Richard logo. Well what is it? A scribble bunch of thin lines. How this was accepted as a logo for sale I have no idea. http://stocklogos.com/node/32496

Light Carrot Right the concept is light but still not a good purchase for anyone. http://stocklogos.com/node/33773

eco bright Although the leafs do look like coffee beans you should avoid logos with leaves again it does not matter how many leafs way over done. http://stocklogos.com/node/31109

Colaris This is a perfect example of way to many colors and gradients this logo has no practical use and would be a nightmare to anyone in production including web and print. What is it? Gradient rainbow caterpillar with its head chopped off? http://stocklogos.com/node/16236

shereoptic. Look Look sometimes I like your logos this one is just a green gradient blob. In my opinion most of your logos are way too detailed and have way too many colors to be used as a practical logo. http://stocklogos.com/node/33163

Bad Logos, SOLD from a Contest site and the reasons why!

Wonderlland Everything is bad about this logo. Thin font and way too many colors. The Rabbit a small dot in the upside down R is similar enough to the Playboy bunny as a copyright infringement.

Vodquila 2 pieces of Clipart with 2 different styles = 1 bad logo that sold for $300. http://stocklogos.com/node/15449

Triple a logo created from Clipart. 3 different styles all mashed together. http://stocklogos.com/node/27504

Snapp Farms 3 different styles of Clipart put together. The use of Clipart is Unacceptable and can not be copyrighted. Logos continue to sellĀ  that are created from Clipart. http://stocklogos.com/node/26584

Secret Summer Thin lines will not work at a smaller scale size. A bad font choice. Overall ugly design that should never have been approved for sale. http://stocklogos.com/user/8843

Sustainable This logo shows how desktop publishers from contest sites sell the same logo over and over. The ERS logo is the exact same two leafs flipped vertically with different colors. This is not acceptable to be copyrighted. Even worse that they are both designed by the same person. http://stocklogos.com/node/22283 http://stocklogos.com/node/725

ANO It would not work at a smaller scale size the thin lines would disappear. Although the concept is ok the execution is poor. http://stocklogos.com/node/32862

The logos listed are examples of what has already been SOLD to customers. Every Contest site is full of bad logos and copyright infringements waiting to be sold. DO NOT BUY A LOGO FROM ANY CONTEST SITE! Have a professional designer who practices ethics and understands copyrights design your logo. http://www.printdesigner.ca
